Nutralab Inc. is proud to announce the proprietary ingredient DEX-L10
Hoodia Gordonii. Hoodia, "Whoo De AH", is a succulent plant
that grows throughout the semi-arid areas of Southern Africa primarily
the Kalahari desert. The San have rationally used Hoodia stems to stave
off hunger and thirst when on long journeys, as it acts as an appetite
suppressant. The active ingredient of the Hoodia succulent cactus was
identified by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South
Africa (CSIR), and patented.
After careful research, scientists isolated several compounds in this
all-natural food that was responsible for dramatic weight loss, P57, which
has been widely reported, is but one of several chemical compounds found
in the Hoodia succulent. Not only was it proven completely safe, it contains
no stimulates that could contribute to the jittery feeling associated
with weight loss products of the last decade.
The Dex-L-10 Standard
Like most natural products there are variation from lot to lot in the
raw materials. With the Hoodia Gordonii this is extremely critical as
our analysis has shown that some raw materials contain only a portion
of the Hoodia Gordonii while others are harvested and processed from plant
material grown outside of the region i.e. China, Mexico, and the US to
name some of the sources.
The Dex-L-10 standard and products produced using this material are assured
of the quality raw material that have proven to be effective. Materials
meeting this standard are rigorously inspected and tested to insure their
origin and species. Abarex and Afriplex individually certify the raw materials
used in the Dex-L10 products. Testing may included the following; certificates
of analysis, South African government harvesting permits, microscopic,
macroscopic, liquid thin layer chromatography and DNA from known specimens
to identify and categorize materials utilizing the branding of the Dex-L10
seal.
How Does It Work?
The chemical constituents in Hoodia Gordonii work within the satiety center
by releasing a chemical compound similar to glucose but much stronger.
The hypothalamus receives this signal as an indication that enough food
has been consumed and this in turn shunts the appetite.
