The first step was isolating a certain fraction of low-molecular weight peptides from a high quality source of protein using enzymatic reactions. This process chemically breaks free full proteins into something more suited for our needs. What we ended up with was a WPH with a high degree of hydrolysis, greater then 25%, that was both highly digestible yet also very easy on the stomach. This protein source yields up to 70% di- and tri-peptides for rapid absorption, even more rapid then that of free form amino acids, causing a tremendous spike in blood-amino levels that stimulates protein synthesis and insulin release; both critical mechanisms for muscle growth.

Our exclusive WPH also provides the optimum profile of vital amino acids necessary for the repair and recovery of muscle tissue during, and after strenuous exercise. Additionally, it has been shown to raise cellular Glutathione levels; supporting a strong healthy immune system, assists blood flow by reducing Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) levels, and promotes fat loss by increasing muscle protein content. The next step turns on a major anabolic pathway through Mammalian Target of Rapamycin (mTOR) activation. Hormones and growth factors stimulate pathways that lead to phosphorylation of mTOR, thereby activating it, but the Branched Chain Amino Acid (BCAA) L-Leucine and its metabolic intermediate Ketoisocaproic Acid Calcium (KIC) also enhance this phosphorylation too. This activates mTOR, turning on the anabolic machinery contained within the cell. Once activated, protein synthesis is increased, while protein breakdown is reduced. This leads to greater levels of anabolism that might otherwise require exogenous hormones to stimulate growth.

L-Leucine and KIC also support many other important functions within the body. They regulate insulin release, support energy metabolism, enhance muscle recovery, and reduce mental fatigue. KIC also has a strong affinity for ammonia, scavenging this fatigue causing endotoxin if it should arise while training. And since these compounds are not manufacturer by the body, supplementation is essential when optimum levels of performance and recovery are required.

The last step addresses a hormone that usually elevates greatly during intense exercise, the catabolic hormone Cortisol. When elevated, Cortisol breaks down muscle proteins, suppresses protein synthesis and glucose transport, and impairs immune system function; possibly inhibiting muscle growth, promoting fat storage, while leaving you vulnerable to illness. Both Ascorbic Acid and Ginkgo Biloba have been shown to blunt these secretions, helping keep this unwanted hormone in check. They also have a strong antioxidant effect which blocks free radical damage, improves blood flow by protecting Nitric Oxide (NO) from destruction, and support good overall mental and physical health.
